I have to write an essay and i need some more ideas please. I know he wrote the two famous poems Iliad, and the Odyssey. What are some other things about him, and how he influenced Greek civilization?

didnt he like umm write stories with a lesson behind it? idr his books too well. i only remember a guy not being able to go home because the water... and opening a thingy fulla wind THATS IT!!!!

ya ya, i remember now lmao. all of his crewmates had traits that destroyed them. i remember that godess lady whatshername athena? in the beginig she told oddyseus or whatever that his crew mates' characteristics destroyed them. the dude was too curious so he couldnt w8 to see what was in the bag thingy, so he opened it whe they were like 2 inches away from home lol.

just like how parents always tell us these stories to teach us lessons of life. i cant really remember a lot now but i rembember the tortise and the hare. that's today's odyssey. thats the best i can explain it. i gotta be talking to you to make u understand

The reason why these two stories were so influential for the Greek empire was not simply that they were entertaining. It was that they reflected the "ideals" that every Greek citizen should hold themselves to that were qualities epitomized in his "heroes".

When these stories were implemented, it was ultimately one of the larger reasons for the Greek empire merging from various warring city-states into one large Greek empire; the reasoning that they held the same values as people and shared in these traditions outlined in Homer's writings. In fact, many famous Greeks have gone as far as to state that one is not a Greek unless they possess these books.

It must be mentioned however that most scholars are now in agreement that the stories "The Iliad" and "The Odyssey" were not in fact entirely written by Homer and are more of a mosaic of stories told and passed down through generations.
