They showed how insane laws were at the time. Having to sit at the back of the bus. Not being allowed to sit at the counter at a Woolworth's and have a meal. (Woolworth's was once the largest 5 and dime in the country-USA). It got congress off its collective butt and passed laws made separate but equal no longer allowed.
