Abraham Lincoln set out the plan for Americas future. By winning the civil war he gave our Nation hope and unified our southern states back to the union over time. When he died by a gun shot by his killer John Wilkes Booth(a rebel Southerner) the nation was in mourn e for the next few years. But we prevailed and came out of this historic tragedy as a stronger nation being able to construct a "New South". If it wasn't for Abraham Lincoln the southern states of the U.S. wouldn't be the same as they are today
