I had to go to Labor and Delivery yesterday due to symptoms I had of pre-eclampsia, which I am being monitored for. Anyway, I was given a Non-Stress test, to make sure everything was fine with the baby (it was, than goodness). After the nurse took my paper results, about 10 minutes later she came back in the room and asked if at any point, I had felt any contractions. I said of course, I feel them about every 7 minutes at this point, but not getting any closer together. And I know the difference between a Braxton Hicks and a real contraction.
She looked at the paper again and said "huh. Well, okay then", and walked away. So I'm guessing that the monitor never picked up any of my contractions.
Is it possible that the monitor wasn't placed in the right spot to pick up the contractions? Or maybe my contractions themselves aren't quite strong enough yet? It concerns me that none of my contractions were picked up, when I most certainly felt them.
