How could I increase my performance in my 5.0L 1999 Ford Explorer?

Ok. I have My 1999 Ford Explorer Limited with a 5.0L V8 and I am looking for anything that will increase my HP without going over $500-600? Thanks a lot.
 
a legal aftermarket air intake. Having a big american engine craves a lot of air. And an aftermarket air intake system will give something like 10 to 30 more hp. Good ones should cost about $250
