My friend gave me an old Edge Wireless Nokia 6103b phone after my iPhone broke. I have AT&T and the phone works fine for everything but MMS. : ( For some reason the MMS will not work. Could it be because it was from Edge Wireless? If anyone knows a fix please let me know! When I go to send an MMS it says "Check multimedia settings" and then once I hit okay it says "Multimedia sending failed".
MMS uses a "site" address called a Muiltimedia Message Service Center or MMSC. Each carrier has a different APN (website type thing) that needs to be correct or your SIM won't be allowed to send the message out. On a 6103b which is apparently unlocked (since you can use everything else), you would just need to figure out how to change the settings. Now T-Mobile can send the settings to jsut about any phone but I have yet to fond AT&T's website that sends over your settings.
If you can get into the messaging section of your phone and get into settings for mms or picture messages, this info should help you as it is the general settings for all at&t or cingular phones:
MMS
Name: MMS
Homepage: http://device.home
Service type: WAP
[gprs access point or Gateway IP 1]: 66.209.11.61
Port 1: 9201
[note: the access point and port may have to go on one line separated by a colon : depending on what the phone wants]
Timeout: 10min
Speed: 1: 9600
If you don't see the exact setting names on your phone, then try the different items in different spots. If it asks you for a GSM or GPRS option, select GPRS. all usernames and passwords are blank. If you've never programmed a phone it will be confusing at best but this might work better: write down your settings and every field (including blank ones) for mms and type them out here, and I'll be able to tell you where it all goes if this doesn't work. I would have to see how the settings look before I can tell you how to apply them correctly. It is possible though, as logn as Edge Wireless didn't screw the phone up to the point where we can't "play" with it!
