How could a Mario cartoon work these days?

It'd be great if they did another Mario series. Kinda curious to see if an American studio could do it though;much in the same vain as the old DIC shows but with more to work with this time around.

I wonder what Miyamoto thought of the animated F-Zero since it was another franchise that he created. Also does anyone remember the computer animated Donkey Kong series from several years back? I only saw it in passing and don't remember too much about it but does anyone have any thoughts on it?

I loved this show when I was little, but I recently watched an episode on youtube and it doesn't seem to hold up as well. The animation is kinda cheap, the songs are ridiculous, and what's up with Candy Kong? In the games, she was very nice and sweet. On the show, she's bossy and and shallow! Also, King K. Rool doesn't have that brutal personality like he has in the games. He seems a bit nicer. Anyways, if they made a Mario cartoon, I think it would work. Remember that Kirby anime? That was a good show!

All I know is that TV Tokyo was all set to make a Zelda anime around 1999 or so. Nintendo was open to the idea, but Miyamoto shot them down. It's too bad because that could have been awesome.
