how come verizon Wireless wont let me buy a phone online?

its the purple Motorola Rival but i want to buy it online and it wont let me it will try to make have a new plan, because heres the story i broke my razer and i want a new phone,so last night they said we could have a 1 year contract and the 2 year contract is the same as a 1 year contract but it will make me have a whole new plan! so is there a way i can just get the phone online and all the discounts?

Call the toll free number. DO NOT go into the stores. Ask the rep on the phone about the deal you saw online. Explain to the rep that something was going on with the online ordering and you want to take advantage of the online deals. Ask politely if they can help with getting the deals that you saw online?
