...done jack crap. He let Ibanez ? go, and Raul was their best hitter. They haven't signed anyone to improve the team. Isn't that the GM's job? To try to sign players and improve the team? The Mariners have plenty of money. Sign some people Jack Z, or go GM somewhere else.

Disgruntled Mariner fan here.

I hear we might sign Adam Dunn. That will be a start, but when the hell are these signings going to happen?

They need Manny, Giambi, or Dunn. One of the 3. Then their hitting will be Okay. Pitching: They need 2 of these 3 pitchers: Ben Sheets, Derek Lowe, Oliver Perez. Relief: They need 2 quality relievers and an average closer. If they complete this shopping list which I doubt they will, they will get 2nd place. I think they will get 2 players on that list: Dunn and a reliever.

The Mariners really need to make a decision now. They can either do what they've done for trhe past, 5 or so years, where they spend big money on free agents. So far, it hasnt quite worked out yet, as nearly all of their long term signings (with the exception of Ichiro) have flopped. If they decide to deeply invest in their farm system, then in a few years they could have a bright future. But first, they need to get rid of the older, overpaid players, and start putting that money into young players that have a future.

I think that it will take a long time for the M's to recover from the Eric Bedard move. The only guy that might have a worst DL track record is Harden, maybe Mike Hampton. Oh wait Carl Pavano. Maybe the M's will sign him to keep Bedard company on the DL
