Alexandria...No its not legal, it is illegal, the Police have been aware it has been happening for sometime, yet they have not acted.
Hal, it seems restrictions on the press and greater secrecy laws maybe a possibility. I wonder if we would have ever found out about MPs expenses with less free press. These idiots have shot themselves in the foot and ruined it for the rest of the 'law abiding' press. Personally I believe we shouldn't infringe on the press, instead bring criminal proceedings against the guilty. The police are well aware of who is doing it and have kown for some time allegedly, they also need to be investigated.
maybe by the Guardian, they seem to be good at exposing the 'truth'.
I have to agree with crow, if we dont stand up to this soon it will be accepted as the norm, when the Government start (if they haven't already) hacking phones we will soon be up in arms. We have to have a rule for everyone not just some of us. The gov can 'hack' mobiles, emails et cetera, what is the difference. We need to forcibly take back our liberty from the oppressive state.
