How come people would love to have a debate section on yahoo answers but don't

beleive it can be controlled? if I were to install a debate section in Y!A I would have effective regulations and a system to prevent trolls from ruining serious discussions. First I would have the people in the debate have options to kick the person out of the discussion if goofing off or being offensive. And if that person gets kicked out numerous times they will be banned from coming back in the debate section. So for example if the rule was that if a person gets kicked out 5 times, they will be banned. Also it doesn't have to be the fifth time where the person gets kicked out then banned.I would have a system that when someone does kick out that person could rate the offensive behavior, so if harsh enough a person who gets kicked out only once can still be banned. So say the levels were 1 thru 5 (5 being serious) and that person was being racist that would be a 5 and that person would automatically banned. Also to make sure these poeple get fairly banned , there would be a review from people that are hired to check that when someone gets banned they are fairly banned(so people that already work at Y!A). I know these trolls would still try to get in with having new adresses, and I would even make that hard for them. When someone signs up for the Y!A debate section they have to click on the approval link to there address. Obviously these trolls will still come back but eventually they will give up, and if nothing else people could still kick them out.

Because that would take too much effort...
you give yahoo too much credit, they'd never do that, that would be Intelligent and time consuming

The problem is, the trolls would not just post in RESPONSE to a discussion. They would START the discussion -- and then kick off and suspend everybody and anybody that disagreed with them. You give them the power, they WILL abuse it. They do that now, here on YA. So, no, the controls you suggest don't work.

Yahoo Answers simply does NOT want a discussion site. They allowed comments on their news stories -- and the trolls destroyed it. They allow postings on this site -- and the trolls are destroying it. The Suggestion Forum is even worse, if you've been over there.

If you want discussions, find a Forum or a Yahoo Group out there that already is set up to deal with this and go there.

If they allowed that kind of operation, then we lose all freedom even more now. We already being controlled and watched by everything you written or even asked or answered. The government has already done this but you don't believe Yahoo answers is monitoring this what we write. Think again, so if did a sight like that then everything else will fall under that same criteria.
You may be serious, but someone or a problem picks up what you written in a wrong way, then your gone. Do you really think controlling something is always good. Something always starts as a good idea, but some one always turns it into something bad. Think again, not with emotions.
