How come people always say, "When Jesus bla bla bla 2000 years ago"?

They've been saying this 2000 years ago thing when we were in the 1900's and now we are about to pass 2010 and I just read it again here on Y.A. 2000 years ago. DID TIME FREEZE AT 2000 YEARS
