how come my xbox 360 wireless remote control for PC doesn't work for my xbox 360?

it doesnt work for my xbox, i havnt tried it for my PC yet, but when i press the controll search, it just flashes, ive heard press the button on the button to install it or something, but there isnt a button on the botttom?, what do i need to do!?.

what u got to do is on the top of the control is a very little button with 3 little side ways things next to were the LB button is hold it then on the xbox there is one just like it next to the memory card slot click it and they should link after about 7 seconds if not do the xbox button first
