How come Los Angeles doesn't have a Flagship?

DC is not really a "hangout" city...as touristy as it can be.. it just isn't the right type of city for a Nokia Flagship store...it's not a downtown like NYC or Chicago.

I've heard that there's plans for 2 in Cali soon, they're just shopping for the real estate. They like high profile shopping places, but NOT indoor shopping malls. Look at the existing 2. They're in well-known outdoor shopping areas, and that's what they want.

wow, the one in the beverly center got reduced to a kiosk? i havent been in a while. mostly cuz they never have any worthwhile phones, and the people that work there dont know very much.

I agree but outside of D.C....for instance Pentagon City or Tysons 2 it's a shopping mecca that attracts some of the wealthiest people in the whole wide whirl! Other than that, D.C. is not even in the top 10 for cities I would think Nokia would throw one in. Obviously LA is the major market being neglected and I would throw one in Miami and Seattle to kind of cover all 4 corners. I personally dont want them popping up everywhere so when I finally get back up to NY it will be a treat to finally go in there.

Perhaps Dallas or Houston to give up some guru love but that's pretty much about it.

I haven't seen any spaces that can be used by Nokia around that area (not even around the Chinese Theater). However downtown for them would be the optimal place in terms of being centric to everybody in LA county.

The Domain in Austin, TX desperately needs a store. The location is perfect for the clientele they are looking for. Its right in the middle by Austin's huge conglomerate of tech companies plus its about a 10 minute drive from Austin's trendy downtown districts. Not to mention Austin is almost right smack in the middle of Houston and Dallas - the two biggest cities in the south.

Hmm, did this conversation happen to have happened this past Saturday around 5:20pm outside the NYC Nokia store?

If so, I'm the guy that took the train up from Delaware to get my N95, if you are who I think you are! :-)

Yeah I know you..

Remember that momment? Me and allan was talking to the President of Nokia Flagship Stores that handle all North American Market.

The bald guy who was peeling the (soon) sign on the Nokia N95 Advertisement.

A) Highest? Do some more research. Either way, doesn't bother me. I don't live ANYWHERE near that kind of stuff.
B) A location in Boston is not totally out of the question (or so a little bird told me).

That said, I'd also argue for a store in the GTA. Lots of phone nuts up there. And I mean that in a good way!

HAHAHA, that is by far the funniest thing I've read on HoFo in years!

Anyway, as long as we're voting, where's my Seattle or Portland store Nokia??????? Or hell, throw in a Vegas store, I'm down there at least twice a year!
