...YEARS OR MONTHS? i had 8 credit cards with 2 personal loan...can you tell me what will i face if i will not pay my credit cards..do i go to jail?for how many years or months?please help....
but some people they say if you dont pay your credit cards you go to jail.and thats the bank customer service and legal counsel said..do you have any idea in UAE LAW regading this?thank you very much..
 
You certainly lived well beyond your means. If there is any fraud involved, say, for example, you "fudged" the income numbers on a loan application to help you qualify, the truth will come out and you could go to prison for quite a number of years for fraud. When you don't repay on time, they go back and investigate everything.

Certain countries can also jail people for failure to fulfill a contract to repay as agreed.

You will have to read up on the laws of your country or have a nice chat with an attorney -- and since your credit is trashed, you will have to pay attorney's fees in cash up front. If you ever made any "mistakes" on any credit card or loan application, supporting documents, etc, you need a lawyer, and you'd better come up with the cash to pay for it.
