i'm a beginner, as in I've never been very athletic nor a runner. today i ran 1.5 miles in 20 minutes outside, on a pretty flat dirt path around a lake. Couple weeks ago I was able to run 1.5 miles in 18 minutes on a treadmill. I know, I know I'm VERY slow. But how can I improve?

because outside you have limits on the treadmill you dont, outside there twists, turns and junctions on a treadmill theres a belt which forces you to run!

because outside has bumps , and your also moving around instead of running in one place
