How can you tell if you've found a worm in your apple?

Just curious, cause I was eating one and I got to a really soft part and I opened it and it was all brown inside, and I told my friend and they started joking there was a worm in my apple, and I'm kinda paranoid about it now.

That was no worm. It was just a bruised part of the apple. In order for there to be a worm, there's typically a worm hole on the outside and a worm inside.

You normally find half a worm in your apple if there was a worm in it..
And in any case, if there were, and you unknowingly ate it, makes sense right, you should be okay. It's not like worms are dirty creatures like flies.
