How can you tell if he's only into you for sex?

I went to 2nd base with this guy in his room and cut if off when he tried to unbutton my bra. Stupid, i know. But i'm fine with going for it (i think) if i know he's going to stay with me in a relationship.
When i stopped him, he looked really surprised, and acted like i was a killjoy (which i was at the moment) but am i leading him on the wrong path too? am i tease? god, how pathetic am i...
everyones saying "don't have sex and see if stays". but what if he leaves?? i love him and i want my first to be with him and he's a virgin too and i want his first to be with me. i don't know... Is there a way to know and keep him too?
Also: He's not the kind of guy that uses girls but since we're both young--im 16 hes 17--and going out, maybe it's different..?
 
If you want to have sex with him then do but only if you want to. If you do it because he wants you to then you may regret it but if you're gonna its so much fun! :P xxx
 
You probably was leading him on (it might have been unintentionally but you still did it). He did cause he thought that what you wanted. so yeah..
