How can you make hair grow faster?

The reason I'm asking is I'm trying to grow out black hair dye, and alot of it is almost gone, but not enough that I can cut it all off. I cut my hair above my shoulders, so I think I have about six inches of black and and six inches of brown hair (the hair that's grown out).

And I just want to know if there is anyway to make my hair grow faster.. it's took me almost year just to grow it this much. I'd like to get rid of it all by the end of this year.

I heard massaging the scalp helps. Is that true?
 
YES, I WAS WONDERING THE SAME THING ! I HEARD SOMEWHERE THAT THERES CETAIN THINGS YOU CAN EAT, TRY LOOKING IT UP.
