How can you get poetry or something public?

I write poems and they're pretty damn depressing and my friends and family say to get it out into the public. But I'm not sure if I want to and even if I did how would I ?

Walk up to someone on the street and read it to them. They'll probably think your insane..but it's worth a try eh?

try submitting them to a magazine. There are all kinds of magazines even poetry magazines. you could also go to a poetry reading or enter a poetry contest. u could try submitting it to a news paper. If one of those works you have a good chance at getting a colection of poems u wrote published as a book.

umm. I guess you should go to a performing arts and see if they can call someone who have to do with poems. Talk with a manager I know will help you on that.
