Media/entertainment plays a major part of socialization in today's society. Using facebook and twitter are both excellent examples of how we communicate, express ourselves, and socialize using media or the internet as a medium.
The issues that arise could be the lack of "real" socialization. Even though we might technically communicate to one another, we've become desensitized to actual confrontation. It's much easier to say something when you're not looking at the person. This desensitization would lead to a lack of preparation in the real world and possibly repercussions in being able to find a job, find a spouse, or generally live what society deems a "normal" life.
