How can U Tell an N95 is real.

With all the N95 excitement, I thought I would buy one. But, when the price is around $900, I am concerned about counterfeit N95 fake phones.

Is there any way of telling the difference between a real N95 and a fake N95 from pictures on the internet? Or, is there some telling question you can ask the seller that will identify a fake.

THX.

Nokia Flagship stores will not ship. You have to be at the store in the flesh to buy a phone.

Why are you making another N95 thread?
Read the stickies.

Unlike a purse you can't make a fake N95. It would be very obvious it was a fake. Now they could scam you with pictures of empty boxes, images from the web, display phones, etc. But you will not find a working N95 knock off.

I would recommend LetsTalk or Flagship Store. However, the Chicago flagship store requires CC# via fax or phone with is a no no in my book. Secure check out on line is best bet.

No ... I have a supplier here that told me that if I wanted a fake working N95 it could be had for a lot less money. Therefore, they exist.

It would be the guts of any cell phone in the N95 case. Obviously, no working camera, or less than 5MP, no working GPS or WiFi.

So, back to my original question ... how can U tell?

Wow... I don't know where you live but of all my years of "collecting" cell phones, I have never heard of or ran into fake phones. Just buy from someone legit and not some dude in the corner.

Or as DPsci was saying, call Nokia Flagship Chicago, fax them your information and they'll ship the phone to you for $749+tax with free shipping. I don't think it gets any better than from Nokia themselves.

No, no, no ... I don't have the camera in my hands. Can I tell over the internet if it's fake. Or is there some question that I can ask the seller that the answer to the question would lead to a conclusion that its fake.

I was thinking along the lines of asking for the serial no., or IMEI no. and that Nokia phone all have a certain serial no., so that would prove or disprove the authenticity of the phone.

THX.

first, this thread is useless. second, obviously if the price is too good to be true you are gonna get scammed. the prevalence of fake nokia phones is not that high also. buy from reputable sellers like importgsm.com, x1387 on ebay, or some of the others mentioned in this thread in order to avoid scams. the chicago flagship is also a good route to go as well. whoever told you that you could get another phones 'guts' inside of an N95 shell is probably some one you dont want to be talking to as well.

also, the mods have been alerted to this thread. next time, read the sticky. there are way too many N95 threads that you could have asked this question in. it doesnt warrant its own thread. not tryin to be mean or disrespect you, but it gets annoying when everyday i visit the forums and there are 7 new N95 threads asking questions that have already been answered or can be answered by asking in one of the existing threads.

For the record, the company that makes the fake Nokia's (Nokir) did indeed make a fake N95, just like they made a fake N73. You'd have to be an idiot not to spot the difference though, even from pictures on eBay. The Nokir N95 is a bar phone instead of a slider and it says Nokir on it instead of Nokia.

Just buy from a reputable seller and call it a day. X1387, phonesource- usa, or the Chicago Nokia store if they'll still let you order by fax.

Hi

I'm thinking about purchasing an H2 but I need to know if I'm getting a real one or not. I recently responded to an add in the paper where a gentlemen was offering his for $3500. I went to his home and came close to sealing the deal but I had some reservations about the legitimacy of the vehicle. I've been to the Hummer dealerships in my area and they're rather large but this gentleman's Hummer was no bigger than a Miata. The price is soooo good that I don't think I can pass it up but from other members experiences do they think it's bigger than a Miata?!

Thank

Don't underestimate China, there immitation phones are even better than the nokia, that u would say original nokia phone is the immitation...if other countries can clone animals...sum can re build a cellphone just like the original one! remember not only finland is manufacturing nokia phones! (hey mah friend broke his arm, what's the no. for 911?)

1. you cant buy a n95 for under 800 USD (850 i think it is)
2. the Nigerians (no offence to any), may try to sell them to you for 250, but they dont even have them, all they want is your money.
3. you can not buy 5 for 2000USD, if they they say they have them.
4. dont pay with WU or money order. paypal or cash (in person) is the way to go
