How can the help save the environment at my big high school?

Start a club at your school. Make a myspace for your club and have them add you also on twitter. Then post some projects. Like September 30th at 8pm everyone should turn off there lights. Or October 8th you can go to an area that has no plants and stuff and plant some trees and flowers.

i would start a recyclable program. i mean i am sure there are TONS of paper, soda cans, and soda bottles at a high school.

You and your high school can not save the environment. Seriously, who do you think you people are? The "environment" is bigger and badder than you can comprehend It doesn't need your help. Get over your self. You are not that important. Without your indoor pluming and ipods the environment will chew you up and spit you out before you can say "Kelly Clarkson".

I would get everyone to plant a tree, somewhere in the surrounding area. Then, get your school to begin to grow its own food, you can begin a program to have students look after the garden for sustainability and biology courses. Have all the food produced used in school lunches so the school can save money while feeding its children healthy organic food. Also, get your school to recycle a lot more, and even possibly invest in alternative fuel sources. There are so many things your school can do to become more sustainable and lessen its impact on the environment. You can even get people to get together to pick up trash and help fund raise for environmental organizations.
