How can someone get out of their environment they are in if they are unhappy?

I want to get out of the suburbs and go for my goals of going to an out of state college and get a career in PR. However it is like my family, my neighborhood, and my environment is one huge hinderence. All of those factors are steady keeping me from getting anywhere.

Has anyone ever been in my situation?
How did you get yourself out of it?
What is my best course of action?
 
express your desire to your family with all sincerity and seek their understanding (understand too that your family is just worried for you going into a new environmnet and far from them)
 
Get your grades up as much as you can, and start applying to every college you can think of. There is also support for kids wanting to go to college in every city. Look into that, someone will be able to help you. Keep trying!
