How can Obama claim not to inject race into the election?

How is it by asking this question, I'm racist? Can one not use the word "Race" anymore without being labled a racist?

Just by being in this election he has brought race into the dialogue.
In case you didn't know, this is a first in Presidential
politics.
He just addressing the 800 lb. gorilla in the room.
