A friend of mine who is in Australia on a student visa doing a diploma on Computers and Electronics. He is very keen to join the Australian Army. He has a valid student visa. Can he join the Army and then have his student visa converted to a Permanent resident visa like it happens when immigrants join the army? appreciate your answers and help
