i was just asked to think about the solution to the ozone depletion and of course the solution to this is to reduce the harmful substance called CFC however the problem would be that i have to find the solution that let the kids at age of 5 can take part in that. i know that for us, as we are adult, we can buy the ozone friendly stuffs like air conditioner or refrigerator that does not release CFC. however for the kid, i really have no idea what they can do to participate in helping ozone

CFCs have been used as propellants in aerosol cans, fire extinguishers (Halon), cleaning solvents for circuit boards, and blowing agents for making expanded plastics used as packaging materials.

Work on alternatives for chlorofluorocarbons in refrigerants began in the late 1970s after the first warnings of damage to stratospheric ozone were published in the journal Nature in 1974 by Molina and Rowland (who shared the 1995 Nobel Prize in Chemistry for their work).

Probably aerosol cans is the one area kids can contribute.

CFC is a chemical that a 5 year old has no control over. If the question was how to reduce greenhouse gasses then they could participate. Cows produce the most methane of any domestic animal and methane is much worse than carbon dioxide. Eat chicken and not cows would be one approach. Use only naturally produced clothing fibers would be another. Walk to the store instead of riding in a car would be another.
