How can I wirelessly connect my windows 7 to my tv wirelessly with out buying anything?

you have to buy something, like transponders and transceivers for the wireless info, they don't show that in the add. Ok the laptop will have wireless capability but has the TV? I doubt if the TV will, you may have to but some kind of set top box to process the info, also are they using the TV as a monitor or are they streaming videos?
 
So yea I saw the commercial where the guy connected his windows 7 to the tv/projector and I search the web and I found alot of people saying that you need these adoptor things. Is it true or can you do it with out buyig anything?
 
if your tv is super new and already has an adapter for this type of thing which is really *rare* if not you need an adapter
