How can I watch DVDs with Windows Media Player?

Whenever I put a DVD in my computer Windows Media Player used to pop up and the movie would start playing, but no sound would come out, even though I had all of the sounds up, it plays music fine though, so when it wouldn't work I would bring up PowerDVD and it would play it and the sound would play perfectly. Now I'm trying to get it to do something and whenever I try to open it with Windows Media Player it comes up only a second and then Power DVD would come up and the movie would start. I changed the default settings but I can't open my movie in that program more than 2 seconds before the other program pops up. Anyone else have this problem or a solution?

im not sure if you have vista or xp but use the nvidia dvd decoder if you have XP
