How can I upgrade to an iPhone when my contract isn't supposed to end until Feb 2011?

Basically, I'm on a £15 a month 24 month contract with o2. Is it possible to upgrade to the new iPhone 4 when it comes out even though there is 7 months left on my contract? - I don't want to have to pay for two contracts! Thanks
