How can i unlock a samsung instinct with a password?

my friend gave me her samsung instinct but it has a security password lock soon as u turn it on. she can't remember the password and she doesnt have sprint any more to override it. so someone help !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! how can i get pass this to be able to use the phone. reply soon!!!!!!!!!!!!
