how can i treat my 2 yr old's "cradle cap" AND make hair washing less of an ordeal?

my 2 yr old absolutely HATES getting her hair washed. she won't tilt her head back, she won't lie back in the tub, she doesn't want me even touching her head. and to add to it, she has "cradle cap" so i have to be extra thorough to get the scales off her scalp and rinse. at this point it's a huge battle and usually ends up with me using the shower spray nozzle to just get it done as fast as possible because she screams & fights the whole time anyhow, but it makes me feel like a big brute hosing her down

does anyone have any tips on how to easily treat the "cradle cap" and make hair washing less traumatic?
