How can i tell if his actions speak louder than words?

When i first met this kid we hooked up and i told him after that i wasn't looking to JUST hookup and i wanted to get to know him better and take things slow. he says that he doesn't wanna be lead on and continues to tell me a story about his ex...so i told him that we should just take things day by day and see how things work out. not long after he says he doesn't want a gf and at the time i wasn't looking for a bf either..a couple months passed by and things started picking up. i started to reallly get interested and he would invite me over to cudddle all the time and watch tv or a movie and invites me to sleep over. ignoring the fact he said he didn't want a gf i let my guard down. he shows pda and he introduced me to all his close friends..he acts all cute and cuddle with me and kisses me basically treats me like his gf so now im head over heels for the kid and he still insists he doesn't want a gf and that we don't have a lot in common and he doesn't have time to commit nor wants to..not to mention he also makes future plans with me, am i wrong to think that i could trust him and develope strong feelings and think that feelings are mutual??
