How can i take up a sport without joining a club?

What kind of sport can i do which will give me a whole body workout (especially on the legs) which i can do without joining a club or anything like that?
 
Play soccer on a rec. team, do pilates, or swim or something like that. Also skateboarding, rollerblading, and biking are easy and give you a whole body work out!!!
