How can I stop my 6 year old from eating glue?

It is like a cigarette addiction, you need to create a substitute or possibly multiple substitutes (candy/toys), it is also good to tell them they should use the substitute instead whenever they try and also scold them every time they go back to the glue; like a dog. The other stuff with him hitting himself could be avoided by letting him hit himself and he can feel sore all day or restrict him and tell him when you get home you will punish him (watch Supernanny or go to her website for efficient punishments). Another good way might be to when he threatens or proceeds after you have refused is to tell him that he doesnt get glue because he abused himself, youre only rewarding him for a bad thing, most parents dont realize this but giving it to them is only telling them that if they do a bad thing they will get rewarded. Maybe I should be saying "No!" to you missy.
 
He makes me buy it and if I say no he threatens to harm me, or himself. One time I refused and he freaked out and sprained his ankle. Im worried because I've noticed hes starting to breathe heavier than usual.. How can I get him to stop eating glue?!
