I received a DUI as the result of a pretty bad 2-car accident that I caused in February. Thankfully, I was the only one injured and I was only in the hospital for a few days.
Since I'm fairly young (21) and thought I was invincible, I have been encouraged by many people (police from the accident, nurses from the hospital, friends, relatives) to share my story with high school and college kids. I have a tremendous amount of guilt and remorse from that night and would love to talk about it, but I have no idea where to get started or if there is an organization to contact. Although the experience has been traumatic in SO many ways, it's definitely changed my life.
Is it even worthwhile to share my story? I'm not sure whether or not it's even worth it to pursue this. I wasn't hurt too badly and I received a pretty lenient sentence(thanks to the PA system). I know theres so many other people in a much worse situation than myself.
I don't know...and advice? suggestions? anything?
