I'm a freshmen and it is the middle of March. I want to start a debate or speech team so that by September, the debate or speech club will be up and running. What I want to know is the difference of a speech and debate team. My friend was on her speech team and got into UPenn - and yes, I know that is not the only thing that got her into UPenn. My other friend is on the debate team and she says it is pretty fun.
What is the difference? What kind of people would be most likely to join the speech/debate team (i.e., future lawyers, future speech-tellers). And some advice to start the team (club, actually) would be very welcome!
