How can I spruce up my garden ? :)?

so the cold weather is pretty much over now, and we're making a start on tidying up the garden again. However, over the years its getting pretty dull and boring, so is there any quick easy ways to make it nicer.. example paint.. where? what color?

also, we're thinking of getting a hot tub, possibly to put in that little area by the gate? as it gets the sun all day. We'd get a private gate of course.. but would it look silly there ?
