How can I send data from a computer to a mobile via Bluetooth?

If I wanted to send a message (like a text message kinda) from a computer to a Bluetooth enabled phone, how would I achieve this? I know I would need a Bluetooth dongle on my PC, but how would I go about creating the message to then send via the dongle if you get me? Any help appreciated. Thanks!
