How can i put Samsung Rants picture into my computar?

Ok i got A Samsung rant and i have pictures that i would like to upload.
I got the USB cord but when i plug it in my COMPUTER nothing happens,
I cant email the picture because i cant send pictures its blocked.
so can anybody help me how to find the memory thingy?

Does an icon pop up on the computer acknowledging that you have plugged in the phone? If so, click that. If not, try bluetooth.
