Hi, I recently just got a Betta fish!
It's a reddish-orange female, and her name is Tropica. It was a school project, and, well, I WASN'T really ready to have it; I brought in a note and everything and I was GOING to get ready.... then I changed schools.
So, anyway, except for having a tank, I wasn't really ready when my friend brought over my brand-new Betta this afternoon. My Betta has been eating some normal fish food, but my friend told me it was bad and could possibly mess up their digestive system. Later, she brought over some Betta fish food but Tropica doesn't seem to be eating it.
We didn't have any extra fish gravel or plants, so we used some fancy clear, blue, green, stones, and some marbles instead. We washed them in luke-warm water first. The tank is kind of big, though.
I don't wanna come across as dumb but I REALLY don't know much about this Betta fish and if I am taking care of her right. There is still some "normal fish food" in her tank and she has been eating that alright, but if she goes even NEAR the Betta food she'll turn right around and sulk at the other side of the tank.
Also, we have some other fish.... would I be able to keep all my fish together? I have 2 others -- one is small and one is kind of medium-sized. I read on another website that I should buy a cheap fish and test out what she does.
Am I taking care of my fish right??! I couldn't find much info on what I needed, and if anybody has any tips or a website that I could use, I would be very grateful!!!
(P.S.: I'm surprised that I could make this so LONG. =P)
