...in a buffet for some weeks? The taint becomes worse the longer the glasses are left in the buffet and while the problem can be solved by simply washing the glasses before using them, it's a real hassle having to wash the glasses twice. The problem seems to be due to the lacquer in the cabinet. One of my friends also has the same problem and the manager of a local bottle shop that lends glasses for functions has a similar problem with glasses that are stored for some time in cardboard cartons. The buffet is about 30 years old and I don't want to do anything that will damage it.
How can i prevent taint from occuring in wine glasses after they have been stored...
