How can I prevent moth larvae from eating my clothes?

I have some moths in my bedroom. I wear all my clothes often. If I wear an article of clothing and wash it frequently, will a moth [larvae] still eat my clothes? ALSO: Do moths eat denim jeans, and if they do, is it noticeable?
 
They do not like cedar.
Cloves, thyme,ginsing,lavendar, rosemary or mint oil on cotton balls will deter them.
Or these dried will.
The holes will show.
