How can I play sports for the Army?

The only sports teams that the Army has are students at the USMA at West Point. The Army has specialized teams such as the Golden Knights (free fall parachuting team) and the Army marksmanship team, but as for things like football and soccer, there are none.
 
I leave for basic training next month and I'm just thinking about the endless opportunities. Does anyone know what steps you have to take to play for an Army sports team? Like maybe football or basketball. I'm really good at both sports but I'm not sure at what point i'd be given the opportunity to try out.
