I made an abstract painting on canvas last week. I would like to now paint the exact same painting again, only a mirror image of it, so that everything is reversed. The thought is that when it is done, it will look like a Rorschach inkblot. I've tried drawing the same image freehand, but it isn't as exact as it should be. The original is pretty big, 30" x 40" and it has some 3D aspects to it, so it is not perfectly flat. Since my drawing skills aren't the best, using gridlines probably won't work, and since it's not flat, I don't know how well tracing will work either. Any ideas?
How can I paint a mirror image of a painting I've already finished?
