I have run the 400 and 200 since freshman year and I get really nervous. I get what I call the "nervous stomach" where everything feels like its churning and flipping out. Now at first (freshman year) it would be just track meet days. I would get so nervous that I would gag when I tried to eat, I was really tired because of it and one time I even blacked out. Sophomore year, i started getting the feeling throughout the whole track season. Now (junior year) i have gotten it everyday even though track has not even started yet. Because of this I am always tired, cant eat at random times in the day when I get the feeling and then feel dizzy. It has gotten to the point where I am almost hyperventilating so that I can try and control my breathing. Please I need advice how to overcome it because its taking over my body and affecting my health. I went to a doctor and he said its mental but my parents don't want to pay for a sports anxiety psychiatrist. Please help!
it used to be that i was nervous but this year it has been happening subconsciously where I cant control it and I am not nervous for anything.
