How can I make this speaker set up? [HELP!]?

Ok, what I want to do is put some speakers in my bedroom. Im going to build the box's and all myself. In order to get decent quality sound, how many/what size speakers and how many/what size woofers should I use? How can I power car speakers in my house? I have an older Stereo in my house, it has a two holes for red and two holes for black, is it good enough?
 
yes those are good enought! make sure you have the correct wiring.

ok man welcome to audio land:P.first of all IF YOU WANT QUALITY SOUND, get some decent speakers, and for good bass sound go for 10" subs about 500+rms for a real hard pounding, depending on how many speakers you want to set up, you need to buy a source unit that plays your songs that have RCA jacks out put for speakers and sub output, if you have 4 speakers buy a 4 channel amp and run each speaking into it, make sure you have the right amount of pwer because you can BLOW your speakers. next is your sub amp, go purchase a mono block amp and hook it up to your sub. Wire eveything up and BAM your siund good.
