Recently bought a Nokia 5800 mobile phone to try use as a PDA, as Chinese characters (traditional and simplified) decoding much better and simpler, but then found that its address field literally only has enough spaces for a street number and a street name. Many addresses are much longer, e.g. has a house name or long street name (full address).
How come Symbian phones differ from each other, in the above aspect?! I have an old Sony Ericsson M600i phone and the phonebook was fine, so I bought the Nokia 5800 phone to upgrade (+ listen to music etc.). Both are Symbian based. Unfortunately, and unexpectedly (as both Symbian), found that the Nokia 5800's address field was much shorter, i.e. the phone now useless, as cannot hold the data fully from my M600i phone.
Due to that, had to switch to a Windows Mobile PDA phone. Bought a Mio A501 (Windows Mobile 5.0) to try out, as did not want to risk having the same problem as with the Nokia 5800. If workable, might buy a Windows Mobile 6.1 PDA phone later. Tried to be nice to my wallet, but guess the PDAs and phones want to gobble it up, i.e. no choice. The address field in WM 5.0 was fine but some external programs had better layouts / designs etc. (that was what the description said anyway), so tried the Agenda Fusion 8, an award winning PDA program. Also unexpectedly, found that its address field was very short as well.
Is it possible to self-increase the address field in PDA programs or mobile phones? Any suggestions (based on true experiences and not hearsay) on WM 5.0 PDA programs for calendar and contacts that are good and has ample spacing in their different fields? It would be even better if someone could suggest a program or some programs that could run fine on a traditional Chinese WM 5.0 PDA phone.
