How can I make popcorn pop with no stove or a popcorn popper?

I have a science project and me and my friend are going to pop pocorn. We are going to put in a pot and somehow get it hot enough? Can anyone help the only part we can't figure out is how to pop it! We don't know what we can use to make enough heat as we have no stove and aren't sure how to create a hot enough controlled fire.
btw i cant like use a microwave or stove.
