How can I make my outfit more 50's looking for school?

at school this week, the theme is 50's for the sadie hawkins dance. idk why but it is. tomorrow happens to be greaser and pink ladies day. mom says that the white dress that i have looks like a modern version of what they would wear back then. i think its a nice dress, definitely not casual enough to wear everyday but not exactly formal wear. how can i make my outfit look more 50's
